Shipping

As of May 1st, 2025, the U.S. government has introduced new import tariff rules that may affect your Nine Lives Bazaar order if you're based in the United States.

What’s changed?

The U.S. has removed the $800 “de minimis” threshold for goods made in China, which previously allowed many lower-value international orders to enter duty-free.

Since many of our garments are manufactured in China (though designed and shipped from Australia), this change means that your order may now be subject to import duties or flat customs fees, depending on how it is shipped.

How will this affect my order?

âś… If shipped via Australia Post (delivered by USPS in the U.S.):

  • A flat customs processing fee of $100 USD may apply per parcel

  • This increases to $200 USD after June 1, 2025

đźšš If shipped via a commercial courier (e.g., DHL, FedEx, UPS):

  • A tariff of approximately 30% of your order value may be charged

  • Example: A $220 USD order may incur ~$66 USD in duties

đź’ˇ Please note: These charges are assessed by U.S. Customs at the time of delivery and are outside of our control. Unfortunately, we are unable to predict or reimburse these fees.

How do I know if my items will be affected?

If your order includes items manufactured in China — which applies to many of our styles — there is a chance U.S. Customs may apply duties. This is true even if your order is shipped from our Australian warehouse.

We recommend checking the product details and contacting us if you're unsure.

What can I do?

We know this can be confusing (and frustrating!) and we’re working hard behind the scenes to minimise the impact for our U.S. customers. We’ll continue to keep this page updated with the latest info as we learn more.


Refused Parcels

If you choose to refuse a parcel instead of paying the required duties and taxes, the return process can take 3–6 weeks or longer. Since we are responsible for the return costs, a $60 AUD restocking fee will be deducted from your refund to cover these expenses.


Our warehouse operates out of Burleigh Heads QLD, in Australia from Monday to Friday AEST. We do not operate on Public Holidays or weekends, orders will be processed the next business day.

Transit times are calculated from the date of dispatch. During standard business operation we aim to have all orders dispatched within 24 hours. However please note that during sales or campaign launches this timeframe will be extended.


We also encourage you to purchase express shipping if you require your order for a certain date or event. 

Once your order has shipped from our warehouse, you will receive an email shipping confirmation with a link to track your order. 



If you are outside of Australia you can receive Free Express DHL Courier shipping on all orders over $500 AUD. 

DHL Express is a fast courier service and is trackable via the DHL Express (https://www.dhl.com/au-en/home/tracking.html) website.

We offer 3 modes of shipping:

  • Aus Post Standard International Shipping (10-21 business days)
  • Aus Post Postal Express International Shipping (7-12 business days)
  • DHL Express Courier Shipping (5-7 business days)

Pricing is dependant on your location, simply input your shipping address at cart to see. This can range from $20-$50.

Postal services are sent via Australia Post and will deliver/are traceable via your country's local postal service. 


DON'T FORGET! We offer FREE standard postal international shipping on all orders over $220 if you are located in NZ, USA, Canada and the UK. (Excludes bulky and heavy items).

We also cover ALL Duties & Taxes if you are in NZ.

We use 2 carriers for our domestic parcels - Australia Post & StarTrack Courier.


Australia Post
We offer 2 modes of shipping within Australia using the Australia Post network

  • Standard Shipping (7-10 business day transit) $8.95
  • Express Shipping ( 1-5 business day transit) $12.00

For our WA customers, we strongly encourage you to purchase express shipping due to the issues Australia Post sometimes experience with the commute over to WA including delayed transit times.

We offer FREE standard shipping on all orders of $199 and over.


StarTrack

  • Express Shipping (1-2 business day transit) $15.00

New Zealand Customers

We’ve got you covered! For customers in New Zealand, all duties and taxes are included in your final purchase price—so there are no extra charges when your order arrives.

If you do receive a customs charge in error, please email a copy of your receipt to [email protected], and we’ll assist you.

International Customers (Outside Australia & NZ)

When shipping internationally, you may be required to pay customs duties and import taxes upon delivery. These charges are determined by your country’s regulations, and as the buyer, you are responsible for any applicable fees.

Nine Lives Bazaar is legally required to declare the full purchase value on international shipments and include an invoice for customs purposes. For more information on possible charges, we recommend reaching out to your local customs office.

Refused Parcels

Important Update for US Customers

As of February 2025, we no longer cover duties and taxes for US orders due to changes in import regulations. Please keep this in mind when placing an order. See more information on US tariffs in our dedicated FAQ. 

We currently work with Aus Post and Startrack. 


Australia Post:

We offer 2 modes of shipping within Australia using the Australia Post network.

Returns & Exchanges

If something isn’t quite right or you simply change your mind, we will gladly accept full priced, unworn (with original tags attached and garment bag), unwashed or faulty items for return or exchange within 30 days from the shipping date (Australia & International orders included).

Please be mindful, we do not provide refunds on sale items (including flash sales and all discounted items). Store credit or exchange only. Final Sale items are non-returnable and are marked as such in the product description.

Goods must be in a re-sellable condition to return, this means they are unworn, free from makeup and odour, unmarked, undamaged and have original tags and bags attached. We reserve the right to reject any return that does not meet these conditions upon inspection at our delivery centre. 

Please note: Returns are processed within 5 business days of the parcel arriving at our fulfilment centre. We kindly ask that you only reach out to customer service if the return has not been processed within this time frame.

Exchanges + Instant Exchanges - FREE Return Label

You can exchange any eligible items that you aren’t completely satisfied with through our online portal. We now offer Instant Exchanges which means you will be given the option to request for either an instant exchange to secure your order immediately or the regular exchange where you will need to return your item first before an exchange order is processed. You can choose either option in the return summary page.

For Australian orders - you will be provided with a pre-paid postage label to return your items back to us.

For International orders - you will need to process a return request through our portal however, you will at this time need to arrange your own shipping.

Online store credit - FREE Return Label

We offer online store credits in the form of a gift card that is valid for 12 months from the return processing date and just like an exchange, we cover the cost of the return by providing you with a prepaid return label. You will receive this as a gift card in your email - so please check spam / promotions folders for it. 

For Australia orders - you will be provided with a pre-paid postage label to return your items back to us.

For International orders - you will need to process a return request through our portal, however you will need to arrange your own shipping.

Refund - $10 Return Label / AU Customers

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will accept returns of unworn full priced items within 30 days (Australia and International) for a refund  through our portal. 

Our system provides a $10 flat rate return label generated for Australian domestic orders only, the cost is then deducted from your refund. This also ensures that if your product is lost in transit we will be able to cover the cost for you. 

For Afterpay orders, repayments already made will be refunded to your AfterPay account. If you paid with a Credit Card or using PayPal, the full amount of the returned items (minus the original shipping cost) will be refunded to your original account. If you paid with a Gift Card, your refund will be issued back to that original gift card and is not valid to be refunded for cash.

Please note, if you opt for a refund - this will be processed within 5 business days of arriving at our fulfilment centre. This timeframe may be impacted during sale periods. 



We are only human and sometimes we make mistakes, if you have accidentally received the incorrect item in your order please process a return with this as the reason and images of the labels of your tag and bag. 

We will sort this out for you and you wont pay a return label fee. Reach out to us if you need urgent assistance with a replacement.

Items purchased on sale are returnable for store credit or exchange only. We do not offer refunds on sale items.  

If an item is marked as Final Sale in the product description it cannot be returned.

If you placed an order which was eligible for a gift with purchase promotion period, and you returned an item/s for an exchange, you are eligible to keep the gift with purchase item. 

If you return for a refund, you will receive a $10 flat rate return label generated for domestic orders, the cost is then deducted from your refund and you will need to return your gift with purchase within the return parcel. 

If you've returned an item and are awaiting a refund or exchange order (but did not choose Instant Exchanges), we wont be able to process it until we physically receive the return back. Once the warehouse has opened your return and received it into our system we are then notified and can process the refund or exchange. This process can take between 5-7 business days once delivered or upwards of 14 business days during peak sale or launch periods.

Should there be any delays, please know that we work diligently to ensure your return is processed in the timeliest manner.

We pride ourselves on quality manufacturing, in the rare event that you have received a faulty item, you will need to process this through our returns portal for exchange, credit or refund. 

We will cover the cost of your return label if your product is deemed a manufacturer fault otherwise $10 will be taken out of your refund for the return label (if returning within Australia).

We follow ACCC guidelines with regards to warranty on faults, if a product is not deemed a manufacturer fault and occurs during the course of normal wear and tear or not following care guidelines this is not returnable or refundable.

Items marked as 'Final Sale' in the product description are not eligible for returns or exchanges. We understand that this can be disappointing, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any concerns, please contact our customer service team and we will do our best to assist you.

To return a faulty product, you can book the return via our returns portal by selecting "product is faulty" as the reason. We strive to ensure a seamless process for such instances and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

You will need the original order number from your order confirmation email - this might start with NLO- or EXC-NLO- if returning an exchange order. Ensure to include all of the order number (copy & paste is best). You will also need the email address used on your original order confirmation to process a return - again copy and paste is best to avoid issues.

Should you encounter difficulties with our returns portal, such as issues with recognising your order number or email, do not hesitate to reach out to us for help.

We will work to resolve the issue or assist you with your return request manually if necessary. Whether you prefer a refund, gift voucher, or an exchange, we've got you covered.

We use a third-party warehouse to manage our orders and returns. If your return has been marked as delivered it will go into a queue for the warehouse to process - with older deliveries being processed as priority. Due to the nature of this process locating singular returns to prioritise is not possible. 

Once your return has made it through the queue, the warehouse will open and assess the product to ensure it is in saleable condition. We are then notified once it is complete and are then able to process your refund or exchange through the system.

This process can take between 5-7 business days once delivered or upwards of 14 business days during peak sale or launch periods.


Rest assured we and our warehouse team are working hard to ensure all are processed as soon as possible. 

If you opted for a store credit instead of a refund on your return you will receive this in the form of a virtual gift card. 

Once your return has been processed at our warehouse and system you will receive an email notification advising of this as well as a seperate email containing your gift card store credit. 

This is valid for 12 months from the return processing date, if you are having trouble locating this after received a return completed email please check any spam or promotions folders for it.

At Nine Lives Bazaar, our standard exchange shipping does not include express options due to returns portal limitations. However, we understand that sometimes you may need your exchanges faster.

How to Request Express Shipping:

  1. Contact Support: Email us at orders@ninelivesbazaar.com or use the live chat on our website.
  2. Provide Details: Include your order number and why you need express shipping.
  3. Pay the Fee: An additional fee applies based on your location and urgency.
  4. Timing: Requests must be made before your exchange ships from our warehouse.

Important Notes:

  • Availability: Express shipping is subject to availability and depends on our ability to process your request in a timely manner before the order leaves our warehouse.
  • Fees: Costs vary; our support team will inform you of the exact charges.

If your order included a gift with purchase, to be eligible for a full refund, both the primary product(s) and the complimentary gift must be returned in their original condition. If the gift is not returned with your return, the RRP value of the gift will be deducted from the refund amount.

Gifts included with your purchases are not individually exchangeable or refundable. We cannot make substitutions for different versions, colours, or variants.

Some discounts cannot be stacked or combined. This may extend to the 'Gift with Purchase' promotions and means that discount codes will not work where a 'Gift with Purchase' promotion is already applied.

Lost packages

At Nine Lives Bazaar, we strive to ensure every order reaches you in perfect condition. In the event that your order is lost during transit, please reach out to our customer support team at [email protected] with your order number and any relevant details.


Damaged packages

We understand the disappointment of receiving a damaged package. In such instances, please report to our customer support team at [email protected] within 24 hours of receiving the order and include photos of the damaged items or package.

We will review the provided documentation and, if necessary, arrange for a replacement or issue a refund.

Once your order has been placed and processed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order details. This email will include a tracking number and a link to our tracking page. 


Click on the tracking number link or enter the tracking number into our tracking page.


Tracking information may not be immediately available after your order is placed. It can take up to 24hrs for the number to become active in our system. If you don't see any updates right away, please be patient and check back later.

We apologise profusely for any tampering that may have occurred during shipment. If your package arrives with missing items or shows signs of tampering, please take a photo of the parcel as received and contact us along with any paperwork provided by the courier. We will be happy to send out a replacement item as soon as possible and will investigate the matter with the courier company. Your assistance with providing documentary evidence is much appreciated.

Unfortunately, once an order has been placed and processed, we are unable to modify the size of the item. If the size you wish to change to is not available, we cannot accommodate the change. However, you can always return the item according to our return policy and place a new order in your desired size if available.

Product

Nine Lives Bazaar threads are designed to become a new kind of vintage, with the idea that they will be loved for eternity, or passed down through nine (or more) hands. As we use sustainable fabrications, they need an extra level of love.

We recommend hand washing in cold water with mild detergents and line dry. Garments may shrink slightly when washed, but will return to size with ease when steamed or ironed. 

Nine Lives Bazaar is an Australia brand and as such our styles are displayed in AU sizes on our website. 

Due to the various styles created for our special collections, we recommend checking the individual product descriptions and garment measurement charts before determining your size.

Our collections are curated for a diverse range of shapes and sizes - which means our styles can range from a more fitted style, to something a bit more floaty in the silhouette. You may choose a differing size style to style depending on your preferred fit. 

To get started use a soft measuring tape to determine your measurements, compare on the size charts on each product page and choose the size closest to your measurements, if you are in between sizes we generally recommend to size up for fitted styles and down for the less fitted. 



We try to keep Nine Lives exclusive so we rarely re-cut or pre-order our items when they have sold out. If we do decide to pre-sale an item we will note this in the product, send an email and post on social media about it. So make sure you subscribe to be notified. 

If you have missed out on an item the best thing to do is register your email address or phone number to be notified when a product comes back in stock from a return via the product page, or you can check our Buy Swap Sell pages on Facebook for items up for resale.

We recommend washing our garments in cold water by hand to avoid shrinkage. If the fabric contracts, utilising a steamer or iron can help smooth the yarn back to its original shape and length. If we aren't stocked in your favourite local store the best thing you can do is request that they stock us and who knows we very well might be next season! 


We understand how important it is for the print placement on your item to align perfectly, especially on premium pieces. While we strive for high-quality craftsmanship, there are some factors to consider when it comes to print alignment.

Our factory works diligently to match prints as closely as possible. However, achieving a perfectly aligned design across all seams and all pieces can result in significant fabric waste. To uphold our commitment to sustainability and minimise our environmental footprint, we aim to balance precision with responsible fabric usage.

That said, we always prioritise the overall quality and aesthetic of our designs. We are continuously working with our factory to strike the best balance between quality, sustainability, and visual impact.

Afterpay is an interest free payment plan option, similar to lay-by that can be used for Australian customers. Afterpay’s instalment plan means you can pay off your purchase in four equal instalments due every fortnight. To use Afterpay for your order, simply select the Afterpay option at checkout. Your order will be shipped to you as per our standard despatch timing. 


Please note - minimum spend for Afterpay orders is $100 AUD.


For returns - If you wish to return your items you can simply return through the normal returns process portal here and you will be refunded through Afterpay.

Klarna is a global payment and shopping platform that offers an interest free payment plan option and is available for Australian & international customers. Klarna’s instalment plan means you can pay off your purchase in four equal instalments due every fortnight. To use Klarna for your order, simply select the Klarna option at checkout. Your order will be shipped to you as per our standard despatch timing. 


Please note - minimum spend for Klarna orders is $100 AUD.


For returns - If you wish to return your items you can simply return through the normal returns process portal here and you will be refunded through Klarna.




After you have added all items to your basket please go to PROCEED TO CHECKOUT. You will see an option to enter a discount code/gift voucher which you can apply to receive the discount from the total. Please note, you are only able to use one discount code per order.

When you sign up for our services, you should receive a welcome voucher fairly quickly. If you do not see it in your inbox, please check your junk or promotions folder. If it is still not there, contact us, and we will ensure you receive it promptly to proceed with your purchase.

Don't forget you will only be eligible to receive a welcome discount if you have never shopped or subscribed with us before. 

If you have very recently purchased an item and noticed a further discount on our site within 24 hours, we may extend the same to you in most cases. Upon such occasions, we may provide a discount code for you to use on your next order as a gesture of good faith for your recent purchase.

We choose to set pricing of our products in different regions outside of Australia, this is due to various reasons like the cost of business, the cost of distribution and warehousing, the cost of manufacturing and the exchange rate between AUD and other nations currency. 

We currently have set pricing for North American customers including Canada, this price does not change depending on exchange rate. The price you are charged will show in USD at the checkout. 


If you are outside of North America and Australia, you may be charged at an exchanged amount, this is clear in the checkout and shows in your local currency. This exchange rate is automated and fluctuates throughout the day and is set by our website's payment provider. We do not control this.

  • Automatic Application: No promo code is required. Simply add two eligible Separates items to your cart, and the 15% discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

4. Exclusions
